2021-2022 CCC Youth Team Tryouts.
Do you want to climb more and train in a team environment? Do you want to compete in fun climbing events? Join the CCC Youth Teams to become a climber. Our athletes will create lasting friendships, learn how to challenge themselves, train hard and succeed.

Tryouts for all RETURNING Team climbers will be held at the Hanger location on Tuesday Sept 7th 2021.
Tryouts for NEW to CCC athletes for All Sport Teams will be held at the Hanger location on Sept 8th and 9th 2021.

All athletes will reserve a one hour interview and climbing time slot.

Ages 9 and up only. At this time, we are not accepting younger climbers for our teams. Must be 9 by December 31st.

Tryout Fee is $20+gst.

Registering for Tryouts does not guarantee a placement on one of the CCC Teams.

We do inquire about location and time preferences but please understand that some teams are in high demand and will have a higher performance level. We consider availability, age and ability when considering potential athletes. We will send out a Questionnaire for preferences a few days before your tryouts to gather some more information.

CCC Youth Teams are a training program for independent athletes who can work in a team environment.
Positive and respectful interactions are required at all times.

TRYOUTS:
2021-2022 Season Tryout Dates & Times:
Athletes will be considered for any and all teams regardless of selected time.
Every athlete, regardless of their training team, may compete at any event throughout the season.
Sport level athletes are not required to compete. All other team levels are based on the goal of competing.
We move athletes up and down the team levels throughout the year as warranted if deemed appropriate by the Head Coach.

RETURNING Youth Team Athletes Tryouts Tuesday, September 7th @ CCC Hanger
5-6pm or 6-7pm is for athletes born 2009 to 2012
7-8 or 8-9pm is for athletes born 2003 to 2008

Format: 3 interviews with different coaches & some bouldering. We’ll have some specific climbing drills to complete. Bring your climbing shoes and chalk bag. Group setting.

NEW to CCC Athletes All Sport Teams’ Tryouts Wednesday or Thursday, September 8th or 9th @ CCC Hanger.
5-6 or 6-7pm is for athletes born 2009 to 2012
7-8pm or 8-9pm is for athletes born 2003 to 2008

Format: 3 interviews with different coaches & some bouldering. We’ll have some specific climbing drills to complete. Bring your climbing shoes and chalk bag. Group setting.

Alternate Evaluations: At this time we are not offering alternate tryout times. Email here if you want to be placed on the waiting list for an alternate tryout date. We would schedule these if there was space remaining after Sept 10th.

2021-2022 Season Starts Sept 15th & Ends May 2022.

Team Levels

Team Descriptions.
CCC Sport Teams – This is where it all begins. Climbers will work with coaches and peers to start their journey in climbing, developing strength, technique and climbing strategies while spending a lot of time on the wall exploring movement and learning how their bodies work in a 3D environment. Participation in our Sport Cup series will allow the climber to test out their skills in a fun competition environment.

This program is associated with the LTAD Stage: Learn to Train
Born 2009-2012: 4 hrs/week. $160+gst/month
Born 2003-2008: 5 hrs/week $180+gst/month
CCC Single Facility Membership to team location also required.

CCC Development Teams– Climbers on this team are ready to build on their improved climbing skills, and therefore are looking to step up their training as well to correspond with this goal. The focus is still on developing strength, skill and technique but there will be more emphasis on starting to progress training principles in the areas of physical, technical, tactical and mental development. Competitions will also be a focus as participation in the provincial competition circuit will be encouraged to all of those that are interested.

This team is associated with the LTAD Stages: Learn to Train & Train to Train
These athletes can choose to train 2 days a week or 3 days a week.
2 days a week.
Born 2009-2012: 5 hrs/week. $195+gst/month
Born 2003-2008: 6 hrs/week $210+gst/month
CCC Single Facility Membership to team location required.

or 3 days a week.
Born 2009-2012: 7.5 hrs/week. $235+gst/month
Born 2003-2008: 9 hrs/week $255+gst/month
CCC Multi Facility Membership also required.

CCC Performance Teams – Athletes in this program have a focus on training, progression, and goal setting that is compatible with striving for success at national and/or international competitions at the youth and open levels. Commitment to progression in all four areas (physical, technical, tactical, and mental) is a foundation and needs to be applied to both training and competition settings. Although there will not be a requirement to compete in all three disciplines, all will be used to improve performance and an expectation to improve in each is expected. Climbers in this program must be in Youth B or older age categories.

9 hrs/week. $275+gst/month
CCC Multi-Facility Membership also required.
